项目位于英国艺术协会前，由艺术家兼理发师 Daniel Kelly 运营，同时拥有画廊和美发沙龙两个功能。Sam Jacob事务所从建筑空间上进一步加强了DKUK的商业文化混合模式。

The space, backed by Arts Council England, is run by artist and hairdresser Daniel Kelly and functions both as an art gallery and hair salon. Sam Jacob Studio’s design articulates DKUKs part-commercial / part-cultural hybrid model as an architectural space.

设计一方面利用商业基础设施展示艺术作品，使文化充斥整个空间；另一方面将用来摆放商品的货架创造成了一个抽象的，图案化的展示装置，与艺术融为一体。

The design frames the display of art through the commercial infrastructure that supports and enables the ‘culture’. At the same time commercial references such as Slatwall wall display system are repurposed as an abstract, graphic gallery display mechanism.

通常人们在画廊或理发店里看待事物的方式是不同的。在设计中，人们不仅可以透过框架、半透明隔断、穿孔和反射看到不同的展品，还可以看到人们自身。看与被看在这个空间中同样重要。

Sam Jacob said: “Usually the way we look is conceived differently in a gallery or a salon. The design explores the act of looking through the use of frames, translucencies, perforations and reflections. The space also considers how we are seen (or not) just as much as how we see.

镜子通常是美发沙龙的中心特征，人们可以从中看到自己的映像。在这个项目中，镜子被用作了空间装置，在有限的室内创造出了一种无限的空间感受。

“The mirror, often the central feature of a hair salon and filled with our own reflection, is used here as a spatial device. Mirrors are used to create a sense of infinite space that contrasts with the reality of the interior.

通过使用一系列视觉效果，这间面积仅有2m x 5m的伦敦最小画廊被改造成了一个复杂的视觉装置，人们可以在欣赏艺术的同时，在这个美丽的空间中理一个中意的发型。

“Using these optical effects the tiny space – London’s smallest gallery at 2m x 5m – is transformed into a complex viewing device as well as a beautiful space to get your hair cut.”
