设计项目地处上海浦东新区，位于一座高端办公楼一层。不同于普通商业街道用封闭幕墙隔绝室内外空间的沉闷布局，项目沿街生动、开放的形态，让街道成为人与人发生交流的场所，形成有“厚度”与“温度”的城市界面。这家精品咖啡店以拥抱的姿态面向公众开放，让MULY化身为一道亮丽的风景线。

The design project is located in Pudong New District, Shanghai, on the first floor of a high-end office building. Unlike the dull layout of ordinary commercial streets with closed curtain walls to isolate indoor and outdoor spaces, the lively and open form of the project along the street allows the street to become a place for human interaction, forming an urban interface with “thickness” and “temperature”. This boutique coffee shop is open to the public with an embracing attitude, making MULY a beautiful scenery.

迄今为止坐拥8000家咖啡店的记录，令“魔都”上海成为全球拥有coffee bar最多的城市。上海的咖啡文化拥有国际、多元、包容的独特魅力，见证了无数本土咖啡厅的孕育、成长与发展，也成就了无数各异社交空间的百花齐放，这其中就包括MULY。

With a record of 8,000 coffee shops to date, Shanghai, the “Magic City”, is the city with the most coffee bars in the world. Shanghai’s coffee culture has a unique charm of international, diversified and inclusive, witnessing the breeding, growth and development of countless local cafes, as well as the blossoming of numerous different social spaces, including MULY.

咖啡文化的主角并不只有咖啡，更是上海支持各种主体良性发展的城市魅力。MULY旨在持续传递独立的空间体验与专注精品咖啡的味觉探索，以轻松的设计语汇为引导，建立咖啡消费者与年轻化新生活的纽带。我们希望将咖啡文化的传承与充满海派摩登的都市底蕴并置呈现，让MULY成为基于本土咖啡生活方式与当代社交节奏的一个珍贵的文化样本。

The main character of coffee culture is not only coffee, but also the urban charm of Shanghai that supports the healthy development of various subjects. MULY aims to continue to deliver independent space experience and focus on the taste exploration of specialty coffee, using a relaxed design vocabulary as a guide to establish a link between coffee consumers and the new youthful life. We hope to present the heritage of coffee culture juxtaposed with the urban heritage full of nautical modernity, making MULY a precious cultural sample based on the local coffee lifestyle and contemporary social rhythm.

设计逻辑以起、承、转、合的序列式节奏，注解商业空间的艺术价值。外立面所采用的喷砂不锈钢材质，以金属质感配以直观醒目的品牌LOGO，动感与摩登的气质随即被唤醒，与写字楼现代化的玻璃幕墙形成和谐稳定的构图。遮阳伞与室外卡座以灵活的自由动线排列于庭前，兼顾造景及休憩聊天之用。

The design logic is based on the sequential rhythm of rising, bearing, turning and closing, which illustrates the artistic value of the commercial space. The facade is made of sandblasted stainless steel, with a metallic texture and a brand logo that is intuitive and eye-catching, the dynamic and modern temperament is immediately awakened, forming a harmonious and stable composition with the modern glass curtain wall of the office building. Sunshades and outdoor seating are arranged in front of the courtyard in a flexible and free flowing line, which can be used for both scenery creation and relaxation.

作为临街的店铺设计项目，在外立面设计上，对理想城市社交界面的探索同样是一个重要的研究课题。项目本身并非孤立地处于真空，相反，其存在的那一刻便已悄然融合进城市尺度，闯入大众的生活。我们希望MULY不再只是提供一杯咖啡的独立空间，它将“放松”下来，作为一个多元的载体，兼具交流互动的共享平台功能。与此同时，店铺把自己的一部分外向化，将开敞的公共空间纳入街区的肌理之中，这个小小的贡献悄然提升了城市形象与空间体验。

As a street-facing store design project, the exploration of the ideal urban social interface is also an important research topic in the design of the facade. The project itself is not isolated in a vacuum, rather, it has been quietly integrated into the urban scale and intruded into the life of the public from the moment it existed. We hope that MULY will no longer be just an independent space providing a cup of coffee, but will “relax” and serve as a multi-faceted carrier and a sharing platform for communication and interaction. At the same time, the store extrapolates part of itself, and incorporates the open public space into the texture of the block. This small contribution quietly improves the city image and space experience.

入夜后的MULY非常美，温暖明亮的橙白色光芒熠熠生辉，点燃了整个街区的生命。于外立面镶嵌一圈的线型灯带为夜色中的咖啡厅注入了灵魂。由外及内，灯光漫反射围合而成的入口似乎像某种意识的延伸。矩形门头连带着白橙交织的暖色光源向两侧舒张开，像是为素色缎带上嵌入了一枚新礼花，又像是一张洋气的城市明信片。从远处望去，MULY是那样简约、纯粹、干练，自带的光芒让它从周围纷杂的环境中抽离，在漆黑的夜幕舞台上脱颖而出。

MULY is very beautiful at night. The warm and bright orange-white light shines brightly, igniting the life of the whole block. The linear strip of lights set on the façade breathes soul into the cafe at night. From the outside to the inside, the light diffuses to form an entrance that seems like an extension of some kind of consciousness. The rectangular doorway with warm white and orange light sources spreads out to both sides, like a new flower embedded in a plain ribbon, or a western-style postcard of the city. Seen from a distance, MULY is so simple, pure and competent, and the light it carries makes it stand out from the cluttered environment and stand out in the dark night stage.

步入室内，吧台以极简几何形的构成方式置于空间与流线的中心，引导顾客往来，感受场景变幻。同时它也是作为艺术装置的存在，占据着空间的视觉核心。室内的设计手法与MULY建立之初所拟定的视觉基调具有很大关系：整体把控却富于巧思，不拘泥于单一可能。

Stepping into the room, the bar counter is placed in the center of the space and streamline in a minimalist geometric form, guiding customers to come and go and feel the scene changes. At the same time, it also exists as an art installation, occupying the visual core of the space. The interior design technique is very much related to the visual tone that MULY was established with: overall control but full of ingenuity, not limited to a single possibility.

简约的银色体块吧台，有序阵列的泡泡灯，与光源相映成趣的水纹玻璃点缀其中；水磨石材质打造的灰色地面打底，暖色家具以轻松的姿态置入场地，开放吧台上方的彩色灯带上不经意地强调着品牌文化，同时配以咖啡制作的明档展示，以上元素共同串联起不同区块的空间趣味。窗明几净，室内与户外相互映衬，带来视觉联动的别样惬意。

The simple silver block bar, the orderly array of bubble lights, and the water pattern glass embellished with the light source; the gray ground made of terrazzo, the warm furniture is placed into the venue in a relaxed manner, and the colored light strip above the open bar unconsciously emphasizes the brand culture, along with the bright display of coffee making. The windows are bright and clear, and the interior and exterior reflect each other, bringing a different kind of visual connection.

我们对咖啡厅的核心功能及本质需求作出了充分、专业的回应。咖啡品牌店的良性循环除去咖啡豆自身品质以外，出品设备与空间视觉协调同样是决定一家咖啡店出色与否的重要部分，它们是咖啡社交行为发生下的背景板。我们选择并围绕设计简洁的咖啡操作台，合理容纳空间中常见的电器设备——优化咖啡师与日常出品的互动，以更轻松的状态投入到热爱且专注的咖啡工作中去。

We provide a full and professional response to the core functions and essential needs of a coffee shop. In addition to the quality of the coffee beans themselves, the equipment and visual coordination of the space are also an important part of a coffee shop’s success, as they are the background board for coffee social behaviors. We choose and focus on the coffee operating table with a simple design, and reasonably accommodate the common electrical equipment in the space- optimizing the barista’s interaction with the daily production and putting in a more relaxed state to love and focus on coffee work.

四面通透的落地窗让视觉空间逐渐变得开阔，头顶上荡漾的「涟漪」、垂坠的「光斑」共同形成丰富的艺术接口，弱化了内部空间的暗沉与限制。设计语言在本质上始终纯粹：物我相融，交互通感，回归本真。人穿梭其中，并未感到丝毫的局促，反而不知不觉地，便在空间所编织的氛围里踏上音乐与咖啡相伴的艺术之旅。

The transparent floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides make the visual space gradually open. The rippling “ripples” above the head and the “spots” hanging down together form a rich artistic interface, weakening the darkness and restrictions of the internal space. The design language is always pure in nature: blending things and me, interacting with communication, and returning to the original nature. One does not feel the slightest constraint when walking through the space, but unconsciously embarks on an artistic journey with music and coffee in the atmosphere woven by the space.

我们打造了一个受欢迎的咖啡社交场所。可以说，上海闻名遐迩的咖啡文化正是这一座座散落其中的咖啡厅与城市相互碰撞，相互成就所达成的良性结果。MULY是一处承载美好记忆的据点，它的存在反映出上海都市文化的缩影：温暖、放松且自在。街角散发着咖啡香气与“人气儿”的空间，如同一个温和的容器，其中的精神养分得以滋润无数平凡且动人的回忆。

We created a popular place to socialize over coffee. It can be said that Shanghai’s famous coffee culture is the benign result of the collision and mutual achievement of these scattered coffee shops and the city. MULY is a stronghold of beautiful memories, and its existence reflects the epitome of Shanghai’s urban culture: warm, relaxed and at ease. The street corner exudes coffee aroma and “popularity” space, like a gentle container, the spiritual nutrients in it can nourish countless ordinary and moving memories.

MULY将室内空间拥抱给城市，也将城市景观接纳进室内。当玻璃门打开时，MULY便与城市街道、过路的行人，形成了相对开放的对话关系。它仿佛在说：“或许你会驻足停下，进来喝一杯咖啡，开启这美好的一天。”

MULY let interior space embrace the city, and also accepts the urban landscape into the interior. When the glass door is opened, MULY forms a relatively open dialogue relationship with the city streets and pedestrians passing by. It seems to say: “Maybe you will stop, come in and have a cup of coffee to start this nice day.”
