Artist Peregrine Churchfrom the rainy city Seattle shared with gooood his fantastic rainworks, which are positive messages that appear when it rains. Their purpose is to make people smile on rainy days. The materials used are only cardboard and superhydrophobic coating. The artist cuts out shapes from the cardboard and sprays almost transparent superhydrophobic coating on the road. When it rains, the floor with superhydrophobic coating will remain dry, so the rainworks will magically appear. There is also real-time cartographic information on Peregrine Church’s website. You may find positions of his rainworks and go to watch on rainy days.

Heavens no! Once dry, rainworks are completely non-toxic, environmentally safe, and biodegradable.

How long do rainworks last?
Each rainwork lasts about 4 months to a year, depending on the amount of foot traffic it has to endure. More abrasion means it will fade faster. A rainwork is the most vivid during its first couple of weeks, then slowly becomes more subtle.

不会，雨天作品和人行道表面使用了同样的材质。

Do rainworks make the sidewalk more slippery?
No, rainworks retain the same texture as the surface they are installed on.

Are rainworks legal?
According to a representative at the Seattle Department of Transportation, Rainworks are actually legal, because they are temporary, don’t harm the property, and don’t advertise anything.

I use Always Dry (the Wood & Stone formula). It is not sold in the US, but it is available at http://nanexcompany.eu/ The company that makes it, the Nanex Company, is based out of Belgium. I am currently in talks with them about getting distribution of Always Dry in the United States. (Please note I am not paid by Nanex to use or endorse their product.)
