1 请向读者介绍你自己。
Please introduce yourself to the readers.

我在浙江大学读的建筑本科和研究生，然后又去哈佛大学设计学院读了城市设计的硕士。之后去纽约SOM建筑设计公司工作了两年，今年暑期回到上海分公司。按照朋友的说法，由于还没拿到执照，所以也不敢妄称自己是建筑师，暂且称自己是建筑从业者吧。平时喜欢写文章和拍照，最近人品决堤，两组摄影作品分别拿了2015年国际摄影大赛(IPA)的旅行组一等奖和特效组三等奖，于是被胜利冲昏了头脑，竟然萌生了转行当摄影师的天真念头，还是长不大。

I did my undergraduate and graduate study of architecture in Zhejiang University, and then went to Harvard University Graduate School of Design for Master of Architecture in Urban Design. After working for SOM New York for two years, I returned to SOM Shanghai this summer. Since I am not licensed yet, I would call myself architectural professional rather than architect. I like writing and photography, recently got two prizes in 2015 International Photography Awards (IPA), the 1st place in Travel / Tourism category and 3rd place in Special Effects category.

2 摄影对你意味着什么？为什么钟情于手机摄影，并且坚持用正方形取景框拍摄？
What does photography mean to you? Why do you stick to mobile phone photography and square frame?

摄影对于我来说是一段静态的叙事，用一帧画面讲一个故事，很迷人。我拍照的题材很日常，所以手机比较方便，况且我真的也不会用专业相机。我是个纠结的人，版式和构图对于我来说很痛苦，所以干脆就用最省事的方形取景框，它没有方向，没有偏见。

For me photography is more of a static narrative, composing a story with a single frame, which is very charming. The subjects of my photography are very daily based, so mobile phone naturally becomes a convenient tool for me. Layout and composition are very painful for me, so I choose to use square frame, it has no direction, no prejudice.

3 很多转瞬即逝的美好场景被精妙且恰到好处的扑捉，你是如何对这些瞬间迅速反应？是把手机一直拿在手上如猎人般时刻准备着吗？有出现过为一张美好的照片等待很久的时刻吗？
Many transient moments are beautifully captured in your photos, how do you quickly respond to these moments? Do you always hold your iphone and wait like a hunter? Is there any photo born out of an extremely long waiting?

这个世界无时无刻不在昙花一现，我只是恰巧碰到了一些，而手机又恰巧在手上。当然也有很多照片是等出来的，记得有位摄影师说好的照片是碰到的，而不是等到的，我不太同意，因为守株待兔的状态实际上很真诚，而真诚往往会出些美好的东西，只是时间问题，我觉得我很真诚。

The world is full of transient and beautiful moments, I was just lucky to run into a few, and my iphone happen to be in my hands. Many photos came out of a long waiting, there was a photographer once said good photograph is from encounter rather than waiting, which I do not fully agree with, because waiting is actually a very sincere gesture, and I believe sincerity will be rewarded eventually, it’s just a matter of time.

4 你觉得摄影中最为重要的是什么？
What do you think is the most important thing in photography?

摄影是自我表达的媒介，我更关注这个媒介是否能够帮助我完成表达。纯粹为了视觉的摄影对于我来说没有吸引力，不够叙事，也没有批判性，艺术丢了批判就没了灵魂，我特别粉崔健的一句话，文艺丧失了批判就等于卖淫。

Photography is the medium of self-expression, I am more concerned about whether this medium will enable me to complete the expression. I am not a fan of photography purely for visual appeal since it’s lack of narrative and criticism, which I think is the soul of any form of art. I like what Jian Cui said, art without criticism is prostitution.

5 有哪些人物或者作品对你影响深刻，为什么？
What figures or works have profound impact on you? why?

我经常想像Michael Wolf（Michael Wolf在gooood）那样用镜头去观察城市的异象，或者像Edward Hopper那样去描绘人在城市中若即若离的孤独感。我喜欢很多艺术家，但更倾向于冲着睿智的知识分子挥洒我的崇拜，比如段义孚，作为人本地理学者，他对于人类经验复杂性和精妙性的深刻理解让我着迷，这也持续地影响着我的建筑和摄影，就是时刻关注各种尺度和背景下的人及其行为，人与自然的关系，人与空间的关系，人与社会的关系。

I wish I could observe the anomaly of city like Michael Wolf (Michael Wolf on gooood), or depict human beings’ subtle loneliness in urban life like Edward Hopper（Edward Hopper on Artsy）. I am a follower of many artists, but more of a fan of those wise intellectuals, such as Yi-Fu Tuan, whose deep understanding of complexity and subtlety of human experience always fascinate me. His way of observing the world continues to affect my architecture and photography, namely always to be concerned about people and their behavior, to understand the relationship between human and nature, human and space, human and society.

6 能讲讲你未来的打算吗？
Can you talk about your future plans?

脑子里一天一个想法，已经懒得有打算了。
New thoughts pop up in mind everyday, I don’t think I am able to make a plan.

方拍 • 空间七所
Square Spaces

滑动按钮，举起手机，屏幕上展现的是我蓄意截取的一个空间，动人的色彩，完美的光影，精致的构图，我激动不已。但我常常不会急着按快门，多半是因为这个空间里头还没有人，这让我空虚和焦虑。我需要人的进入，去展现这个空间的尺度；我需要行为的进入，去揭示空间对于我们的意义。简•莫里斯说：“无论怎样，各地的人才是激发我写作灵感的火花，哪怕我对他们的了解通常都只是蜻蜓点水——望向窗外的一眼、偶尔听到的温柔声音、双手间的触碰——绝大多数都是这样短暂而难以捉摸的瞬间…” 作为一名建筑从业者，我平时的工作都是围绕人展开的，我认识空间的媒介是人，创造空间的媒介也是人，因而才如此迫切地捕捉着这些人的背影、侧身甚至正面，企图观察和体悟人与空间的对话。不过我也明白，自己的存在绝不应该加入这场对话，因为镜头最终要的是一种自然且自在的情态，空间里的人不会因为我而产生行为上的变形，所以更多的情况下，我都不是一个堂而皇之的旁观者，而是一个蹑手蹑脚的偷窥者，窗口边，阳台上，门缝间，树丛里。

Phone lifted, what shows up on the screen is a space I have deliberately framed. I am excited about its vibrant colors, perfect lighting, exquisite composition, yet I often do not hurry to press the shutter, mostly because there is nobody inside the space, which makes me feel empty and anxious. I need people come in, to show the scale of the space; I need behaviors come in, to reveal the significance of the space. Jane Morris said: “No matter what, people are the spark of inspiration stimulating my writing, even if my understanding of them is usually superficial – a glimpse out of the window, an occasional gentle voice, a touch between hands – most of them are so transient and elusive moment…” As an architectural professional, my work focuses on people, which is the medium for me to understand and create spaces. That’s why I was so eager to capture these people’s back, side or even front, in an attempt to observe and understand the dialogue between human and space. However, I should never join this dialogue, because ultimately what the lens wants is a natural gesture, people’s behavior in the space will not be deformed because of my presence. As a result, instead of a spectator, I am more like a voyeur, lurking beside the window, on the balcony, behind the door crack, or in the bushes.

Subway

深觉自己是一个自作多情的人，与路人的擦肩而过都能尝出永别的悲壮，而地下的纽约，这样的悲壮在行色匆匆的人群中被无可救药地放大，我甚至看不清那些飞驰而过的脸。我就这样神经质地感动着自己，再看看这些人，他们却都沉浸在自己的小世界，听着旁人听不见的歌，读着别人看不见的文字，完全无所谓，那些擦身而过的人，这辈子只见这一回。

As a deeply self-sentimental person, a stranger’s passing by means a tragic farewell to me. In New York’s underground, such tragedy is even amplified by the hurry crowds, I cannot even see those passing faces. However, while I am thoroughly moved by myself, those passers-by are all immersed in their own little world, listening to the music inaudible to others, reading the texts invisible to others, completely indifferent with this encounter, the only one in their lifetime.

旅途
Journey

不知道那些开着车的人是否跟我一样，行进在让人窒息的风景中，分裂成两个自己，一个看景，一个开车。而如果不出意外，看风景的自己都会轻松地说服开车的自己刹车熄火，窜出车外，继而以一种此生只来这一回的饥渴尽情迷醉。在美妙的旅途中，这样的冲动经常因为过于频繁而变成一种强迫，无力抵抗。正因为如此，我数次放弃开车而坐上游船或者飞机，那样，可以将看风景的自己囚禁。

Driving in breathtaking scenery, I am wondering if those people would split into two selves just like me, one enjoying the landscape, the other simply driving. In most cases, the former will easily convince the latter to brake and get rid of the car, completely indulging in the natural beauties, as if this would be the only time being here in my lifetime. During a wonderful journey, this impulse often becomes a compulsion, unable to resist. As a result, sometimes I would give up driving and get on boat or plane instead, so as to imprison this addiction.

人行道
Sidewalk

在这里，有的人对着橱窗自作多情地欣赏着并不好看的自己，有的人不幸被飞溅的脏水打湿而骂骂咧咧，有的人像个小丑一样挥了半天手却仍旧打不到车，有的人站在店门口猥琐地偷享屋里吹出的冷气，有的人却因为门牌号过于隐蔽而来来去去地寻找入口。我总是幻想获得一个上帝的视角，那么人行道将是一部光天化日下的肥皂剧，精彩的众生百态尽收眼底。我想我是想多了，因为其实更多的人在这里仅仅是埋头走过，日复一日，年复一年，像一具一具的僵尸。

Here, some people narcissistically appreciate their mediocre appearances in shop front’s reflection, some people unfortunately got wet by splashing dirty water, some people wave their hands like a clown but still cannot get a cab, some people stood in front of the store enjoying the cool air blowing from inside, some people have a hard time finding the entrance because of its hidden house number. If I could have a God’s eye, the sidewalk could be a theatrical panorama of public life. However, I think I’ve an overestimated its wonderfulness, because most of people are simply walking by, buried their heads to themselves, day after day, year after year, like zombies.

海边
Seaside

我相信，只身来到海边的人们都是因为一场对话而来，企图在狭隘与宽广之间诉说某些自怜的情绪，在渺小与宏大之间寻找某种内心的深刻，然而，他们所面对的这片巨大的白噪音却满是催化剂，哗哗地往人心里头注射，囤积在体内的那些情绪像腮间的气球，急剧膨胀。结果是超现实的，单恋男在女神腼腆的微笑中读到了爱意，创业者在他荒唐的计划里看到了改变世界，老股民在凋零的股市里悟出了死神的召唤。幸运的是，总会跑过些追逐螃蟹或者海鸟的孩子，清澈的笑声稀释了催化剂，人们才在即将破裂的膨胀中泄了气，回到现实。

I believe those coming to the beach alone are for a conversation, attempting to caress their self-pity between narrow and broad, to find some inner depth between tininess and vastness. However, this huge white noise in front of them is full of catalyst, injected into their hearts like a rushing flood, the accumulated emotions rapidly expand, like a blown balloon. The result is surreal, a man in an unrequited love may interprets the smile of his beloved as a sign of affection, an entrepreneur may find the power to change the world in his absurd business plan, an investor may hear the call of death in the plunging stock market. Fortunately, there are always some running kids chasing crabs or seabirds, their limpid laughter dilute the catalyst, salvaging people from explosion and bringing people back to reality.

台阶
Step

走台阶就像读一本长篇小说，踏上第一步时会有些迷茫，怀疑它是否值得自己付出那么多时间去读；走到中段平台又欲罢不能，害怕继续浪费时间在那些无聊的章节，却又不忍抛弃已在脑海中铺开的故事；气喘吁吁地爬上最后一步台阶，惊喜、困惑、失望，各种各样的情绪在合上书本的那一刻开始蔓延。不知道从什么时候开始，人们习惯了在需要上下的地方歇斯底里地寻找自动扶梯，他们应该是怕了那部小说，脆弱的情感无力承担情节的跌宕，转而去与一本没有开始没有发展更没有高潮的小说厮守，匀速的情节让人们舒服得愚蠢，看看他们呆滞的眼神。

Taking steps is like reading a novel, bewilderment emerges when setting foot on the first step, you will question whether it’s worth the time to read. Arriving at the landing in the middle, you think about giving up to stop wasting time on these boring chapters, but you cannot since it will be such a pity to abandon the story already rolled out in your mind. Gasping, you finally climb on the last step, surprise, confusion or disappointment, emotions begin to spread out upon closing the novel. We cannot recall when, people start to hysterically look for escalator, they must be afraid of that novel because their fragile emotions cannot afford the undulate plots, they turn to fall in love with a novel with no start, no development and no climax. The stable comfort makes them foolish, if you look at their sluggish eyes.

山野
Mountain

人们在原始面前流露出来的敬畏让我着迷，桀骜不驯的城市肉身在这里蜕去工业和网络文明的盔甲，小心翼翼地回归动物般的原始，脆弱的生存能力在每一个笨拙的踉跄中展现无遗，似乎每一秒都有因为失足而死去的可能，这是一种向死而生的悲壮，美得苍凉。不过我也渐渐发现，敬畏背后潜藏的是人与自然的形同陌路，我们诞生于自然的本能，却再也无法心平气和地与自然生活，它们只是偶尔出现在我们忙碌生活中的高级安慰品，在自然中的游走也不过是为了几张漂亮的照片，最终在朋友圈里获得些炫耀的谈资和点赞的砝码。自然就这样沦为了工具。

People’s awe while facing the primitiveness deeply fascinates me, as if their mighty urban flesh loses its armor of industrial civilization, carefully returning to the origin, just like animals. Every clumsy stagger reveals human beings’ fragile viability, death seems embedded in every second. What a desolate beauty. Yet I gradually realize this awe actually reveals human beings’ alienation from nature. We were born out of a natural instinct, but cannot harmoniously live with nature any more. Nature occasionally appears in our busy lives only as comforting products, a nature stroll is merely searching for pretty pictures to show off among our friends. Nature thus degrades to a tool.

光斑
Light Spot

大面积的光很廉价，因为你看不到它劈开的黑暗，可那小小的光斑就无比惹人怜。它像一个移动的房间，跟随时间游走在建筑的庭院、城市的街道和山体的缝隙，就像小时候在乡间表演的马戏团，孩子们一个村一个村地追着跑，一场都不落下，因为每次走进那个大大的敞篷都能收获一场奇遇。而这些光斑，连门票都不要，每一个走进其中的人，却可以收获另一个自己，你走到哪儿，他就跟到哪儿，缄默，忠诚。

Vast light seems cheap, because you cannot see the darkness it breaks through, while a little light spot is a cherished beauty. It is a moving room, motivated by time, wandering in courtyards, streets and valleys. It reminds me of the nomadic circus in the countryside. Kids followed it from a village to another, trying not to miss any single performance, since every entry into that giant tent would bring them a wonder. Likewise, those walking into the light spot will also have an encounter, not with a wonder, but with another self, silent and loyal.
